SSC Meetup Page
Do you ever feel like getting out on the ski slopes, waterways, golf course or bike trails, but don't really have anyone to go with you when you are available? Maybe it's your day off, but your friends cannot go. That's why we started the SSC MEETUP page, so you can post activities that other members might enjoy too.
To sign up, please click on the Meetup icon at the top of any SSC webpage, or type this URL into your browser: http://www.meetup.com/Susquehanna-Ski-Snowboard-Club.
New Way to Volunteer: SSC recently launched an on-line volunteer sign-up tool. It’s called SignUpGenius and it’s super easy to use. When the club needs volunteers (for example, to help at the Get-Acquainted Party, which will be here before you know it), we will send out an email blast requesting your help. Open that email! It will contain a link to our volunteer sign-up form. All you need to do is click on the link, and you will see the various jobs available and the shifts that need to be filled. Just fill in your name and email address for the slot(s) you want. That’s it! Thanks for supporting your club!
We urge those of you who have yet to get involved in your club to stop thinking about it, and just do it! The more you engage in this club, the greater the benefits to you. There are many ways in which to become more involved – ranging from volunteering at a social event to providing an essential function to help run the club. Any amount of time you can spare will be repaid richly through the friends you’ll make and keep through SSC.
Current volunteer opportunities:
Hershey Park Volunteers: We are seeking dependable volunteers who would like to be part of a program that will help you earn free Hershey Park tickets while helping SSC to earn a little cash. You will earn 1, 2 or sometimes 3 Park passes for working 3 to 6-hour shifts, and SSC will earn $6 for each hour you work (half of these proceeds will benefit SSC and half will benefit Special Olympics or the Central PA Food Bank. All you have to do is submit your name and email address to our Hershey Park Volunteer Coordinator, Lovena Nickle at firstname.lastname@example.org or 717-541-8803. When volunteer opportunities at Hershey arise she will send you an email asking if you would like to work that event. Volunteer opportunities include: ushering at concerts at the outdoor stadium; ushering at concerts, hockey games and many other events at the Giant Center; helping inside the Park with ride operations, games, food & beverage, and parking. Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age and have no known violent, criminal sexual or felony convictions, and no known outstanding warrants. All volunteers will be required to sign a Hershey Park Volunteer Release and Waiver Agreement.
Weekend Rides & Hikes
Weekends are a great time to get out and enjoy the great outdoors with some awesome folks. Weekly rides often include an easy ride, moderate ride and occasionally some fast road rides. Even if you haven’t cycled since you were clipping baseball cards to the bike, or are in to a walk/hike with other likeminded people, come join the group. Contact Mike Gavin at email@example.com for a schedule of the weekly bike rides or hikes and to be added to Mike's weekly email updates. If need be, recommendations can be made to obtain a cost efficient, entry level bike.
