President's Corner

It is hard to believe another year has come and gone already.  We’ve made some new friends and lost some dear friends, had some great times and some sad times.   It can be challenging as well as a blessing to live in this world of duality. It’s up to each of us to make the choice as to how we see it, whether it’s good-bad, right-wrong, light or dark.
For the year 2015 I hope that you choose to focus on the light in your life and, when needed, be that light for others as well. Remember, we all have this light within us and I ask that you give yourself the gifts of love, worthiness, health, joy, creative expression and fulfillment in every area of your life.  I am reminded of all the wonderful friends I have made over the years in SSC.  We are so fortunate to have a club like this that provides a variety of services to our members with our destination ski trips and other social venues throughout the year.   Enjoy this new year, embrace each day and make it count!
     Happy Trails, Dyan Yingst

SSC is going back to Stowe with a long weekend trip, Wednesday to Sunday and our numbers are lower than we would like so we need your help.
Stowe has already received 144 inches of snow this season!
If you are still working, you won’t need to take as many vacation days to go on this bus trip. If you are in retirement mode, you can enjoy a quick trip to a wonderful ski/snowboard spot! Stowe is the Eastern hub of winter sports. Whether you prefer to alpine ski, snowboard or cross-country ski, Stowe has all there is to offer for your mountain-oriented activities. For those who do not wish to hurl themselves off of a mountain at high speeds, the village offers a variety of shopping, sleigh rides, snowshoeing, ice skating, sledding, snowmobiling and more. The standard package price of $653 per person double occupancy includes roundtrip motorcoach, 4 nights at the Commodores Inn near Stowe Village, a daily hot breakfast buffet, a 3-day lift ticket and a farewell dinner. Non-skier, junior and senior discounts are available. Please mail your payment in full, payable to “SSC” and completed trip application to Trip Leader Linda Randby, 130 Brinser Court, Hummelstown, PA 17036 by January 20, 2015. For more details, call Linda at 717-526-4563 or email
