Swatara State Park Bike Ride

  • September 14, 2019
  • Swatara State Park

Join us for a combination bike ride and tailgate, or if you prefer, for one or the other! The rail trail is relatively flat, with variable surfaces (dirt, gravel, and pavement) requiring wider tires than road tires. The trail runs alongside Swatara Creek. Bike riders will meet at the Park entrance (Lickdale interchange) and pedal 10 miles via the rail trail to the Pine Grove interchange (exit 100) of I-81 and then back!! About 20 miles total. This ride being on a rail trail means that everyone can ride a distance and a pace that is correct for them.

After the ride we are going to have a tail gate, please bring something with you to share. Please bring a non-transparent reusable cup to enjoy the beverages we will have to share.

For more information contact Susanne Laughman at 717-503-3523 or sslaughman1@comcast.net.

Directions: Swatara State Park is in Lebanon and Schuylkill counties, 14 miles north of Lebanon and 3 miles west of Pine Grove. The Park is easily reached from I-81; at exit 90, Lickdale, follow PA 72 north; at exit 100, take PA 443 west; entrance on the right.
