It's Deck Time Again!! It is time for gathering with friends old and new at local decks/patios throughout the SSC area. No reservation or membership needed! Arrive at the selected destination at 5 PM or later, look for folks gathered around tables displaying SSC table tent cards and JOIN IN! This is a great way to meet club members and discover SSC. Below is the schedule of our 2024 deck events for the rest of the season. Hope to see you there!

you ever feel like getting out on the ski slopes, waterways, golf
course or bike trails, but don't really have anyone to go with you when
you are available? Maybe it's your day off, but your friends cannot go.
That's why we started the SSC MEETUP page, so you can post activities
that other members might enjoy too.

Hershey Park: Hershey Park is open on Saturdays/Sundays in April and Friday/Saturdays/Sundays in May until Memorial Day
weekend, at which time they will be open daily for the rest of the 2024 season until September and they need volunteers to help with staffing shortages. You can volunteer to work shifts in Rides, Games, Food & Beverage stands, Parking and more by volunteering to work at the Park, Stadium or Giant Center. Occasionally there are also usher shifts at Bears games, concerts and special events throughout the year. As a volunteer, you can earn 1 to 2 vouchers for admittance to Hershey Park (good for 18 months from issuance date) and SSC gets paid $8/hr. for each hour you work. Half of the money that SSC earns is donated to a charity, e.g. Central PA Food Bank, Wounded Warriors Patrol, and others. To participate, all you have to do is contact Lovena Nickle at lovnic53@comcast.net or 717-541-8803 to sign up as a Hershey volunteer. You will need to provide an email address to enable Lovena to communicate with you about open shifts. Weekend Rides & Hikes Remember last year when you did your first ski run, then at the bottom of the run you were hyperventilating, and your thighs were on fire? Didn’t you swear at yourself for not getting in shape before ski season? As a matter of fact, haven’t you done the same thing for the last few years? This year, change all that, come out and bike with the email riders to get your legs and lungs in shape for ski season. Each week, Mike Gavin sends out information on the location of bike rides and some hikes. Most of the bike rides are on rails-to-trails in the area. Riders are encouraged to bike at their own pace and go a distance that is comfortable for them. For more information and to receive weekly emails, contact Mike at emailriders1@comcast.net.
