Social Committee Volunteers Needed!

Want to meet new people? Enjoy hiking, Hit-the-Deck parties and other SSC social events? Interested in becoming more involved in the Ski Club? Join the Social Committee. What is the Soc­ial Committee? It is a group of SSC members just like you, who come up with ideas and help run non-ski functions throughout the year. Special Olympics

Since 2002, SSC has been working with the York Ski Club to assist with the York Special Olympics skiing program.  We typically have about a dozen athletes (teens and young adults), with a goal of having at least two coaches per athlete.  We ski at Roundtop on Thursday evenings starting in early January through early March (weather permitting).  New volunteers should contact Philip Durgin at 717-732-5325 or pdurgin@comcast.net to obtain a volunteer application form. The Special Olympics program also requires a background check and a short online training course, so contact Phil ASAP if you have interest in becoming a new coach (we could use more help!).  Roundtop donates the lift tickets, so come join the fun!
