For all of you outdoor enthusiasts, a wonderful weekend of camping, boating, and mountain biking, at spectacular Raystown Lake, has been planned from Friday, July 23 thru Sunday, July 25. All activities will take place at the northern part of the lake, near Hesston and 7 Points Marina, located approximately 10 miles from Huntingdon.

If you want a campsite, we suggest contacting Pleasant Hills Family Campground, PO Box 86, Hesston, PA, (814)658-3986. They had a number of campsites available earlier this month. Brenda will be staying there and everyone is welcome to join in the campfire at her site on Friday and Saturday night. All campsites have electric, water, and sewer and are a very short walk to the bath house and restrooms. Rates are $36 per night, for a family of 2 Adults and 2 Children. Extra per person charge is $3 per night. A two night minimum stay is required. Additional information can be found at www.pleasanthills.net. Everyone is welcome to join in the campfire at Brenda’s site on Friday and Saturday night. Reservations should be made directly with the campground. Also be sure to let us know you’ll be staying there.

On Saturday morning, Brenda will lead a mountain bike excursion on a section of the Allegrippis Trail system. The system is made up of over 32 miles of trails consisting of 24 trail segments designed in stacked loops. Those planning to bring their boats or jet skis up for the weekend, or who dock them at Raystown, should be sure to let Louise know so arrangements can be made for everyone to meet on Saturday and Sunday. Information on houseboat or boat rentals can be found at www.7pointsmarina.com. On Saturday evening the marina is hosting a Lighted Boat Parade.

If you plan to camp or bike, but don’t have access to a boat, we will attempt to make arrangements for you to join those who do. You will be asked to provide your own beach towel, lotions, a small cooler with lunch and beverages, and chip in for gas. For planning and communication purposes, it’s important that you let us know ASAP if you plan to join the fun.
