Greetings SSC members! It’s hard to believe summer is almost over and ski season is just around the corner! We have more fun social events planned for this fall: deck parties, bike rides, hikes, Round Top’s Vertical Trek, Halloween Party, and the Get Acquainted Party.

The first membership meeting for the 2010-2011 season is September 7. Please join us at Doc Holliday’s in New Cumberland, social hour starting at 6:30pm and the meeting starting at 7:30pm. All trip leaders will be the reselling their trips. We still have spots available on all our trips except for Aspen/Snowmass. Don’t delay in signing upas most of our week-long trips have end of September deadlines and will have to return unsold air seats/hotel rooms or even be canceled if not enough people sign up.

Membership numbers are down! We are running a membership contest again this year to help bring in new members. First prize will be a weekend get-away trip for 2from Banchi Outdoor Adventures, second prize will be a daytrip to Elk Mountain, third prize will be a day trip to Blue Mountain. Details are almost complete. Don’t waste time… bring in those new members now! Don’t forget to tell them to put your name on the application as their sponsor.

Lancaster and Susquehanna Ski Clubs are joining together to bring our memberships a unique opportunity to meet the representatives from many of our favorite ski resorts. This evening is free to LSC and SSC members and includes food, beverages, DJ, door prizes and the opportunity to talk to the mountain representatives. Admission for non members is $5. To date, Aspen/Snowmass, Tremblant, Windham, Elk, Bolton Valley and Waterville Valley will be in attendance. Complete list of mountains will be available soon. The first membership meeting of the SSC 2010-11 season is on Tuesday, September 7. Get the latest news on upcoming ski trips and social events. The social hour and trip sign-ups begin at 6:30 PM. Trip leaders will be available outside the Comedy Zone, to answer questions and accept deposits on all open trips. So bring your checkbooks! Trips are filling fast! The business meeting will begin at 7:30 PM. A representative from Ski Roundtop will give us an update on the latest happenings. Guests are always welcome! Please bring a friend or two to introduce to the club. Meeting Location & Directions: Doc Holliday’s Comedy Zone, New Cumberland. From I-83 take exit 40A and turn east onto Limekiln Road: turn left at the Comfort Inn sign.

The SSC Ski Life committee is asking for volunteers to help promote SSC and the Ski4Life event at the upcoming ski swaps:

Trip Payments Are Due!

If you have signed up for a SSC trip your next payment may be due and should be sent to your trip leader. By paying on time you avoid those nasty late charges and possible removal from a trip for non-payment. As a reminder, below is a list of payments due in September:
Snowbird/Alta - $600 due by September 1
Jackson Hole - $570 due by September 1
St. Anton - $800 due by September 15
Aspen/Snowmass - $500 due by September 17
Keystone/Summits - $500 due by September 18
Okemo - $200 due by September 21
